1/22/22 – “Minimum Standards Preschool Yearly Training – All for the Child”
8:30A-2:30PM -8 hours of credit- Community Connections Library- $40
Learning Objectives:
Successful participants will learn:

Developmental stages of children / Age-appropriate activities for children

Positive guidance and discipline of children/Fostering children’s self-esteem/ Positive interaction with children

Preventing and controlling the spread of communicable diseases, including immunizations / Blood Borne Pathogens

Recognizing and preventing shaken baby syndrome and abusive head trauma / Understanding early childhood brain development
-
Child abuse awareness/ Preventing the Maltreatment of Children using safe sleep practices and preventing sudden infant death syndrome
-
Emergency preparedness / Understanding building and physical premises safety, including identification and protection from hazards that can cause bodily injury such as electrical hazards, bodies of water, and vehicular traffic

Handling, storing, and disposing of hazardous materials

Supervision and safety practices in the care of children
** The Two-Hour Self Study will be on Administering medication /Preventing and responding to emergencies due to food or an allergic reaction **
Location: Community Connections Upstairs Library, 501 Pine Tree Road, Longview, TX. 75604
Please park in second parking lot. Follow signs for main entrance. Go in double doors and go to the second hallway to the Library. Wear comfortable clothes. Bring snacks and drinks if you wish.
Hours: 6-hour face to face with a 2-hour self-instructional study for 8 hours of training
Cost: $40.00 includes breakfast and snacks. Please bring lunch for a working lunch

Amy has returned to us as a Master Trainer and TECPDS Workshop Presenter. This is Amy’s 30th year in education. Amy strives to serve her community through education and enjoys sharing her experiences and journeys along the way.

- 100+ hours as a volunteer at Longview Regional’s Birthplace
- Over 15 years home-schooling
